After successfully completing her undergraduate studies at the Architecture Department of Bahçeşehir University, she received her master's degree in Environmental Control and Construction Technologies Program at Istanbul Technical University. She worked in the design unit of Turkey's leading construction companies. She received her Ph.D. Selçuk University / Konya Technical University, in the field of Architecture. Her research interests include drawing techniques in architecture, building physics, building technologies, and sustainable architecture. She worked as a full-time lecturer at Alanya University since 2014. She has been working as Asst. Prof. Dr. at Alanya University since 2022.

Prof. Dr. R. Erol SAYIN
He graduated from Istanbul Erkek Lisesi (IEL) im 1972 and METU in the Department of Industrial Engineering in 1979. After his graduation, he received his master’s and doctoral degrees from Ankara University in the Faculty of Political Sciences. Between 1979-1980, he worked in Municipality of Ankara in the Department of Planning and between 1980-1988, he worked in Secretariat for Research and Evaluation in Kent-Koop. At the same time, he was a part-time lecturer in METU Department of Architecture. He joined to METU Department of Industrial Engineering in 1988 as a full-time lecturer. Untill 1994, except his academic work, he was assigned in the Department for Administrative and Financial Affairs as well. After 1994, he worked as a coordinator, participant and advisor in the projects of The European Union and The World Bank. Between 2008-2010, he prepared feasibility reports of Alanya HEP University along with an academic group. In 2011, he worked in Karabük University in the Department of Industrial Engineering as Head of Department. Also, he was the Chairman of the Board of Trustees in Alanya HEP University. Between 2011-2017, he worked as the Dean of Alanya HEP University. Since 2017, he has been working as a professor in the Department of Architecture at the Alanya HEP University. The lectures that he gave are Introduction to Architecture, New Towns, Architecture and Cinema, Architecture and Literature, City Culture, University Culture, City and Aesthetic, Management of Design, Management of Technology, Administration for Engineers, Local Government, Organisation Design, Method for Qualitative Research, Management Information System, Management of University, Organisation Culture, Entrepreneurship.
Prof. Dr. Sülün Evinç TORLAK
Prof. Dr. Sülün Evinç TORLAK received her bachelor degree from METU Faculty of Architecture at the Department of Architecture in 1980, her master's degree also from METU at the Department of Architecture in 1983, her second master's degree from TODAİE in 1999, and her Ph.D. from Ankara University at Faculty of Political Sciences in 2001. During her doctorate, she conducted research for a year (1997) at the University of Birmingham, England. In 1992, she made research on environmental auditing in Japan Environment Agency for 4 months. She had been at Holland Erasmus University for 3 months as a short-term researcher. In 2012, she was a guest lecturer at the Bishop University of Canada for a term. Between 2003 and 2009 she worked at Pamukkale University in the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences as an assistant professor. She also worked as an associate professor at Pamukkale University in the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences and the Faculty of Architecture and Design between 2014 and 2017. She worked as a professor in the same faculties in 2018. She served as the Head of the Department of Urban and Environmental Issues between 2003-2018, as the Head of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration between 2014-17, as the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Design between 2014-16, and retired in 2018. Before her academic career, she worked as a project architect and executive in PTT between 1983-1984; in Kent-Koop Kentkur between 1984-1988; in İzmir Mehmet Beset Architecture Office between 1988-1989; in Atabaş Architecture Office between 1989-1990; in OYAK Construction between 1990-1991 and in Ankara Municipality Directorate of Construction Affairs between 1991-2003.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Muzaffer ÖZGÜLEŞ
He received his BSc in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Middle East Technical University (METU) in 2003. He also received his MSc from METU, in Science and Technology Policy Studies program, with his project “Fundamental Developments of the Sixteenth Century Ottoman Architecture: Innovations in the Art of Architect Sinan”. He wrote popular science articles in Bilim ve Teknik Magazine between 2008 and 2009. He received his Ph.D. in History of Architecture from Istanbul Technical University in 2013 with his dissertation entitled “The Building Activities of Gülnuş Emetullah Sultan”. He taught architectural history at Plato Higher Education College in Istanbul between 2010 and 2014. He received the Barakat Trust Postdoctoral Research Fellowship and spent the 2014-2015 academic year at the Khalili Research Centre at the University of Oxford. The outcome of this postdoctoral research was the monograph entitled “The Women Who Built the Ottoman World: Female Patronage and the Architectural Legacy of Gülnuş Sultan”, which was published by I.B. Tauris in 2017, with the publication grant of Barakat Trust. As another output of this research, his article entitled “A Missing Royal Mosque in Istanbul that Islamized a Catholic Space: The Galata New Mosque” was published in Muqarnas in 2017. He worked at Gaziantep University’s Faculty of Architecture as an assistant professor between 2016 and 2021. He was the coordinator of the Erasmus+ project entitled “Timeline Travel: An Alternative Tool for Architectural History Learning and Teaching”, which was chosen as Good Practice Example. He transformed the outputs of this project into a free mobile application in 2020. He is also writing, translating, editing, and proofreading architectural history and children’s books; and writing for Kumbara and Mini Kumbara children’s magazines since 2009. He has authored three children’s books: Mimar Sinan Macerası (YKY, 2016), Bizans Kaçkınları (YKY, 2021), and Acaba Ne Olurdu? (İş Kültür Yayınları, 2021). He has been working at Alanya University as an assistant professor since September 2021.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hourakhsh A. NİA
(Vice Head of the Department of Architecture)
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hourakhsh Ahmad Nia is a distinguished academic and researcher currently serving as the Vice Head of the Department of Architecture at Alanya University. Previously, he held prestigious positions as the Head of the Departments of Architecture and Interior Architecture at Girne American University, where he played a key role in shaping the academic and professional development of the programs. His leadership extends to the founding and editorial direction of the Journal of Contemporary Urban Affairs, a leading publication in the field, where he has served as Editor-in-Chief since 2016. Dr. Nia is also the Chairman of the Annual International Conference on Contemporary Affairs in Architecture and Urbanism (ICCAUA), a globally recognized platform fostering dialogue on contemporary architectural and urban challenges. With a strong academic background that includes a Ph.D. in Architecture from Eastern Mediterranean University, Dr. Nia specializes in urban design, architectural aesthetics, and sustainable urban conservation. His research addresses critical issues such as the aesthetic and spatial configuration of urban environments, housing policies, and the integration of sustainability into urban and architectural practices. He has authored numerous articles and books, contributing significantly to the body of knowledge in architecture and urban studies, and his work has been published in high-impact journals and conference proceedings worldwide. Dr. Nia's influence extends beyond academia through his participation in international editorial boards and advisory panels. His expertise is sought in various global forums, reflecting his commitment to advancing urban design theory and practice. His dedication to fostering interdisciplinary research and innovation has established him as a leader in the architectural and urban design fields, inspiring both his peers and students alike.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rokhsaneh RAHBARİANYAZD
She is an Associate Professor and full-time lecturer in the Department of Architecture at Alanya University. She obtained her Ph.D. within three academic years from Eastern Mediterranean University. She is an architect and full-time instructor with research interests that span the cultural strategies for generating urban quarters, the history of architecture and urban development as well as typo-morphological analysis into the evolution of the cities and architectural forms. These studies have been approached in several publications in academic journals (SCI, SSCI, SCI-Expanded, Arts and Humanities & Scopus).

Between 2011 and 2016, he worked as a research assistant in the Department of Civil Engineering at Akdeniz University and completed his Ph.D. in Construction Management. Having graduated from the Middle East Technical University, Department of Architecture in 2011, she worked as an architect and project coordinator in various national and international projects for five years as part of several architectural offices in Ankara. During this period, she pursued her master's degree in Architectural History at the Middle East Technical University. Following her graduation in 2019, she started her doctoral studies in the same department. She had been working as a research assistant since 2018 and is currently a full-time lecturer at Alanya University.

Res. Assist. Melike Nur ŞAHİN

She graduated from the Izmir Institute of Technology, Department of Architecture in 2018 with a high honor degree. She completed her master’s degree in the Architectural Design program at Istanbul Technical University (ITU). She is currently doing her Ph.D. at ITU. In 2019-2020, she worked at Işık University Faculty of Architecture in İstanbul as a part-time lecturer for a period of her academic life. In 2023, she visited the Anhalt University of Applied Sciences in Germany for 4 months during the summer semester as a guest lecturer to conduct two courses about cultural heritage. She has been working as a research assistant at Alanya University since 2020.

Arş. Gör. Deniz Can VURAL
He received his bachelor's and master's degrees from İzmir Dokuz Eylül University. During his undergraduate studies, he participated in various architecture and design competitions, winning an equivalent honorable mention in the Mahallem: Bakırköy International Student Architectural Idea Project Competition. As part of his master's program, he joined a study group in the Advanced Architectural Design Techniques course, which established Pandemekan, a platform exploring the relationship between the pandemic and architecture. In 2021, he organized an online workshop titled Contactless Gatherings within the scope of Pandemekan. From 2019 to 2021, he worked as a research assistant at Alanya University Faculty of Architecture. Between 2023 and 2024, he served as a part-time lecturer at the same institution for three semesters, teaching design studios along with courses on graphic communication, architecture and urban space. Additionally, he introduced and taught an elective course, Alternative Approaches in Architectural Education: Video Games, for one semester. He presented his study, The Rising Trend in Architecture and Design: Eye-Tracking Studies, derived from his interdisciplinary master's thesis titled Examining the Impact of Symmetry on Observer Behavior through Visual Attention Software, to architecture students and academics at International Balkan University in Skopje, North Macedonia, during the Staff Mobility for Teaching event held in 2024 as part of the Erasmus+ program. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in architecture at Antalya Akdeniz University, where he began his studies in 2024. Since 2025, he has been working as a research assistant at Alanya University.
